Love Your Too-Muchness

Do you ever spend energy trying to be less? To bury or deny the parts of yourself you have been told are too much?

Maybe somewhere along the way you got the idea you were too … something. Too quiet, too loud, too sensitive, too trusting, too imaginative, too brainy, too bossy, too dreamy, too wild, too …. too much of something!

What if this too-much part is really a valuable piece of the puzzle you bring to the world?

What if the shadows of shame around this part cover up important gifts?

What if your natural genius has gotten buried by rejecting this part?

As you grow more deeply and fully into your authentic self, you can begin to reclaim those marginalized aspects with loving curiosity so that you can discover the gifts your too- muchness may hold.

One of my clients was told by everyone in her family she was too sensitive. She tried for years to bury her sensitivity. Through our coaching together she now uses her sensitivity as one of her greatest gifts and revels in the intuition, body-wisdom, pleasure and guidance it brings her.

Another client had the courage to turn kindly toward what he had labeled his critical nature. Noticing with kind curiosity he was able to let go of layers of shame and self-blame. He now chooses to use this aspect not to judge himself and others but as a tool for discernment and conscious choice-making.

I was often told I was too imaginative and now I get paid to teach people in hospitals, corporations, workshops and private sessions how to use their imaginations for healing, creativity and transformation.

I was told over and over I was too trusting and now I hear that my deep trust in the brilliance of each person helps them discover their unique gifts and bring them into the world.

What shifts inside you when you open in loving gratitude to your too-muchness? Become kindly curious to the parts of you that have been judged, by others or yourself, as unworthy or unacceptable. Explore how these can begin to work for you rather than against you.
