Stunning Video: Comunicating with Whales and Dolphins

Are we humans the smartest animals on the planet?

Maybe not.

To me, that is thrilling...and reassuring.

Check out the video of the talk journalist and eco-visionary James Nestor gave at the 2016 Bioneers Conference. It includes stunning research and stories of whale and dolphin communication and evocative photographic glimpses into the exploration by free divers of the deep sea world of sperm whales.

In this video you will discover:

• A latent human capacity that indicates our kinship with sea mammals and allows individuals to study sea creatures in their native habitat.
• The specialized brain cells scientists thought set humans apart from other mammals but which actually are also in the brains of sperm whales and what that may tell us about whale intelligence and communication.
• Nestor’s audacious plan for research into whale communication, supported by the UN, that may help us save our oceans.
